HoopsAI (operated by Alistair Lee Perry trading as HOOPSAI, ABN 95 295 592 213, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through hoopsai.com.au and the HoopsAI platform, how we use it, and your rights. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and role (coach, player, or club administrator) when you create an account.
• Player profiles — details such as age group and position, entered by a parent, coach, or club to power age-adjusted benchmarks. Player accounts for children are created and managed by a responsible adult.
• Training data — practice plans, shooting session logs, drill results, and progress metrics you record on the platform.
• Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; we keep records of your subscription status and invoices.
• Usage data — standard analytics (pages visited, device type) to improve the product.

How we use it

• To provide the service — generating practice plans, calculating shooter ratings, and tracking progress.
• To send transactional emails such as account confirmations, invitations, and requested downloads.
• To improve the product and fix problems.
• To send occasional product updates you can opt out of at any time.

We do not sell personal information.

AI features

When you generate a practice plan or receive training recommendations, relevant training context (such as team age group and session history) is sent to our AI provider to produce the result. We do not send names or contact details for this purpose, and this data is not used by the provider to train its models.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run the platform: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), OpenAI (plan generation), and Google Analytics (usage statistics). Some providers store data outside Australia; we choose Australian regions where available and require all providers to protect your information.

Children’s privacy

HoopsAI is designed for young athletes, and we take their privacy seriously. Player accounts for children under 15 must be created by a parent, guardian, coach, or club administrator, who controls the account and its data. We collect only what is needed to provide training features, and a parent or guardian can ask us to access or delete a child’s data at any time.

Security and retention

Data is stored with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, and access is restricted by role-based permissions. We keep your information while your account is active and delete or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing alistair@hoopsai.com.au. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will respond promptly. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on this page with an updated date.
